London, 17 Oct - The Donald Trump administration is reportedly planning to increase economic pressure on Syria in order to push Iranian troops out of the war-torn country.

This new plan, which is part of an overall push by the US government to contain Iran's malign behaviour in the Middle East, does not endorse military force against Iran or any of its proxy forces in Syria.

Instead, it cleverly uses targeted sanctions and the threat of withholding reconstruction aid in order to increase pressure on Syria to kick the Iranian forces out.

London, 2 Oct - The US has called an Iranian missile attack on supposed militant targets in eastern Syria “reckless, unsafe and escalatory”.

In a statement on Monday, Pentagon spokesperson Commander Sean Robertson said that Iran took no measures to notify other military powers in the country of the predawn missile strike, something that “professional” military forces, like the US-led coalition, would have done to ensure maximum safety.

London, 19 Sep - Cargo jets that are suspected to have transported weapons from Iran to Syria have made nearly 200 such flights in the past 12 months, according to flight tracking data.

Israel’s intelligence agencies have previously cited that these flights conducted or arranged by the Iranian and Syrian militaries are key to the transport of weapons from Iran to Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Israel has reportedly been the force behind the airstrikes that have hit several airports and warehouses in Syria, shortly after the cargo planes have landed, including on Saturday, when the cargo was being taken off of an Iranian Boeing 747 that had flown from Tehran to Damascus.

London, 15 Sep - The city of Basra endures high unemployment, failed healthcare and education systems, drug processing and smuggling, as well as thousands of landmines from past wars surrounding the city. Brackish water flows through its pipes. Militias – the armed wings of Shia political parties, who fight against ISIS – tyrannize its people. The river is filled with sewage and sickness.

The shared Shiite faith has been used by Iran to exploit Iraq’s wealth rather than build up its people. Many Iraqis are tired of Iran treating Iraq like its own backyard, which culminated in an explosion of fury in Basra this past week. Thousands of citizens took to the streets to demand their rights.
