London, 10 Sep - The Iranian consulate in Basra, Iraq, was set fire to by anti-government protesters on Friday, shouting “Iran, Out”, after a week of demonstrations in the southern city turned violent.

Despite the 100+ degrees Fahrenheit temperatures, protesters were calling for an end to Iranian influence in the country, criticising the Iraqi government's dysfunction, and demanding more jobs and better public services.

Thousands of residents in the oil-rich region are living in poverty, have grown sick from contaminated water, and have suffered power outages.

London, 3 August - Power shortages in Iraq, a country wrecked by a series of conflicts that have devastated its infrastructure, have forced Iraqis to buy electricity from private entrepreneurs who run power generators that can be seen on most street corners. The Iraqi people are now completely condemning everyone who rules Iraq, and given that the Iranian mullahs are pulling the real strings in Iraq, this is a complete disaster for Iran.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) controls the sectarian Popular Mobilization groups, like the Badr militias, Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Kata'ib Hezbollah and the Al Khorasani Brigade, which in turn control the majority of Iraq’s wealth, influence and governance, which means that the Iraqi and the Iranian people are both rebelling against Iran.
